The Basics
When to plant: Transplant: Feb–Apr, Aug–Sept (maybe Oct)
Harvest window
- Harvest as soon as they reach maturity (the head is firm and has reached an acceptable size).
- Leaving them in the garden too long may result in bolting or split heads.
Care overview
- Similar to other cole crops such as broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower: make sure there is enough nitrogen for growth.

| Early Jersey Wakefield, OP | Heirloom variety with 2–3 lb pointed heads that are solid, sweet, crisp and delicious. Compact plants can grow closer together. 12–15" tall. Plant 24–30" apart |
