UC Master Gardeners partner with a variety of community organizations to spread practical, science-based gardening information.

Youth programs (for elementary school children)

School Garden Advice Team	Educators and parent volunteers learn how to start, maintain, and utilize a school garden
Mornings at Martial Cottle Park	Kindergarten–3rd graders go on field trips to learn about gardens from UC Master Gardeners
Generation Connection	2nd graders go on field trips to learn about gardens at the Santa Clara Adult Education garden classroom

For specific groups

Speakers Bureau	Community groups can request a UC Master Gardener speaker for a gathering
La Mesa Verde	Low-income families learn how to plant and maintain vegetable gardens
Green Gardener Program	Landscape professionals are trained to use sustainable maintenance practices
Corporate Outreach	Employees at companies learn about gardening
Palo Alto VA Hospital	Provide gardening education for outpatient veterans, their therapists, and interested VA staff members.

For everyone

Growing Natives Garden Tour	Annual free tour of native plant gardens
Libraries, community centers, and other venues	Free or low-cost talks and courses on seasonal gardening topics
Old Time Farm and Garden Show	This long-running KKUP radio show is broadcast on the fourth Thursday of most months, 10 am–noon. UC Master Gardeners have hosted the show in the past and continue to support it as program guests.

Friends of Master Gardeners

Friends of Master Gardeners is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that fundraises to support the many varied activities that the Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County provide, including the programs listed above. We welcome your support through our plant sales (see our Event Calendar) and by direct donations.
