Succulent with green leaves and yellow flowers in spring/summer. When rosettes close up like an artichoke during the hot summer, they are going dormant and should not be watered. Light shade or filtered sun inland. Medium to low water. 2–3' tall x 2' wide.

Aeonium ‘Sunburst’, Copper Pinwheel
Large rosettes of variegated green and white leaves edged in bright, coppery red that stand up on stalks to 18" tall. Likes cool weather, not scorching hot sun. Sun/part shade. Low water. 3' tall x 4' wide. Hardy to 25°F

Aeonium tabuliforme, Dinner Plate Aeonium
Compact flat rosette of overlapping leaves. Needs excellent drainage. Pale yellow flowers after 3–4 years. No water. 6" tall x 18" wide. Hardy to 32°F

Agave americana ‘Variegata’, American Agave/Century Plant
Gray-green foliage with thin yellow to white stripes along the leaf margins. Tall flower stalk blooms after 15 yrs. Full sun. Occasional water. 2' tall x 2' wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Agave ‘Blue Glow’
Solitary rosettes have blue-green leaves with red margins edged in yellow, tiny soft spines, and short red terminal spine. Full sun. 1–2' tall x 2–3' wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Agave desmettiana ‘Variegata’, Variegated Smooth Agave
Upright growth in an urn shape with smooth variegated leaves. Occasional water. 2–4' tall x 3–4' wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Agave lophantha ‘Quadricolor’, Quadricolor Century Plant
6–12" dark green leaves edged with yellow and a pale green midstripe. Reddish teeth flush red in bright light. As with all Agaves, keep drier in winter. Sun/bright light. 12–18" tall x 2' wide. Hardy to 10–15°F

Agave medio-picta ‘Alba’, White Striped Century Plant
Variegated leaves with greyish-white to creamy-white central broad band and gray-blue, sharp-spined edges. Full sun. Occasional water. 3' tall x 6' wide. Hardy to 15–20°F

Agave parryi var. huachucensis, Artichoke Agave
Large rosette with broad gray leaves. When mature, sends up a 10–15' flower stalk. Clumping. Full sun. Occasional water. 2' tall x 2' wide. Hardy to 20–26°F

Agave vilmoriniana, Octopus Agave
A very unusual looking succulent with narrow green leaves that twist back towards the ground, making it look like a 4-foot tall and wide octopus with outreaching tentacles. Occasional water. 3–4' tall x 3–4' wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Aloe arenicola, Sand Aloe
Spotted, creeping aloe. Long slender leaves with small white spots. White teeth thicken with age. Full sun. Low water. 1–2' tall x 2–4' wide. Hardy to 25–30°F

Aloe aristata, Lace Aloe
Dense rosettes of stubby dark-green leaves, soft white teeth. 20" stalk with orange-red flowers in fall. Clumping. Sun/part shade. Low water. 4–5" tall x 8–10" wide. Hardy to 20°F

Aloe ‘Blue Elf’
Blue-green leaves with toothed edges. Orange flower spikes in winter. Water 1/month in summer. Hot sun and shade okay. Low/occasional water. 18" tall x 2' wide. Hardy to 15°F

Aloe ciliaris, Climbing Aloe
Vine with support or ground cover. Narrow spiraling leaves, 6–12" orange-red flower stalks any time of year. Sun/bright shade. Low water. 8–12" tall x spreading. Hardy to 25–30°F

Aloe ‘Coral Fire’
Dark green with white dashes on upper and lower surfaces. Coral-colored margins and teeth darken with age and are particularly showy when backlit. While they look wicked, they are actually soft to the touch. Sun/part shade. Low water. 1' tall x 2' wide. Hardy to 25–30°F

Aloe spinosissima
Leaves are edged with small spines. Unbranched stalk of red flowers in winter. Clumping. Sun/part shade. Low water. 2–3' tall x 2–4' wide. Hardy to 25°F

Aloe vera var. chinensis
A medicinal aloe similar to Aloe vera but with shorter leaves. Pale orange flowers in spring and summer. Part sun. Low water. 12" tall x 12" wide. Hardy to 30°F.

Aloe x nobilis, Golden Toothed Aloe
Red-orange flowers in the summer. Deer tolerant. Clumping. Sun or shade. Occasional water. 1–2' tall x 1–2' wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Alworthia ‘Black Gem’, same as Aloe ‘Black Gem’
Waxy, dark green leaves darken to purple with more exposure to the sun. Smaller than most aloes, ideal in containers. Full sun. Low water. 6–9" x 6–12". Hardy to 40°F

Anacampseros rufescens, Sand Rose
Dark green leaves with deep purple-red undersides. Bright pink flowers in late spring. Summer dormant. Sun/part shade. Low water. 3" tall x spreading. Hardy to 25°F

Ceropegia woodii, String of Hearts
Trailing succulent, evergreen, heart-shaped leaves with pink undersides, and upright, pink, tubular flowers. Part/full sun. Low water. 2" tall x trailing. Hardy to 25°F

Cotyledon orbiculata ‘Macrantha’, Pig's Ear
Shrubby succulent with paddle-shaped, light green leaves edged with red. Showy red flowers in winter-spring. Part sun. Low water. 2–3' tall x 2–3' wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Crassula capitella ‘Campfire’, Campfire Plant
Mat-forming plant with fleshy propeller-like leaves that turn from bright lime-green to bright red. Sun. Low water. 6" tall x 3' wide. Hardy to 20°F

Crassula corymbulosa ‘Red Pagoda’, Red Pagoda, Shark's Tooth
Triangular leaves form pagodas, turn red in winter. Sun/light shade. Low water. 6–10" tall x 14–24" wide. Low water. Hardy to 32°F

Crassula nudicaulis var. platyphylla,
Bluish-gray leaves on a very short stem. Spring flowers are small and greenish in color. Sun/part shade. Low water. 5" tall. Hardy to 20-25°F

Crassula orbicularis
Small rosettes close to the ground, spread by runners. White or dark red flowers on a stalk in spring. Sun/part sun. Some summer water. 2" tall x 6" wide. Hardy to 25°F

Deuterocohnia brevifolia
Slow-growing ground cover bromeliad. Tight mound formed by small pointy rosettes. Sun/part sun. Low water. 1–2' x 2–3'. Hardy to 15–20°F

Drosanthemum floribundum, Ice Plant
Glittery fine leaves with pink flowers. Ideal for tough areas with little care. Sun/part shade. Occasional water. 6" high, spreading. Hardy to 20–25°F

Dudleya gnoma, Munchkin Liveforever
Clumps of 2" wide rosettes. Leaves are green, waxy, red-tinged and powdery. Flower stalk 5" tall in May. Sun/part sun. Low water. 2" tall x 2" wide, clumping. Hardy to 25°F

Dyckia, Sawblade
Broad rosette of sawtooth edged leaves. Although drought tolerant, they thrive on frequent watering while actively growing. Full sun. Low water. 1' tall x 1' wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Echeveria agavoides ‘Lipstick’
Apple-green leaves with red-pink edges form clumps of rosettes. Red flower with yellow edges in spring-early summer. Sun/shade. Low water. <1' tall x 1–2' wide. Hardy to 15–20°F

Echeveria harmsii ‘Red Velvet’
Branched with rosettes of narrow, light green hairy leaves with red edges. Bright orange, bell-shaped flowers with golden throats. Part sun/shade. Low water. 12" tall x 12" wide. Hardy to 25°F

Echeveria imbricata, Gray Swirl
Tight rosettes of flat grey-green leaves form 4–6" tall clumps. Red & yellow flowers in the spring and early summer. Sun or shade. Occasional water. 1' tall x 4–6" wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Echeveria ‘Perle von Nurnberg’
Elegant rosettes of pink-purple-gray leaves with a pearlescent sheen. Pink flowers in summer. Part sun/shade. Low water. 5" tall x 8" wide. Hardy to 30°F

Echeveria pulvinata, Chenille Plant
Fat hairy green leaves with velvet texture, edged and tipped red. Red-orange blooms. Sun. Low water. 2' tall x 3' wide. Hardy to 20°F

Echeveria pulvinata ‘Devotion’
Silvery green rosette with rounded, cupped leaves, offsets freely. Small yellow to pink flowers on a tall bloom stalk. Full/part sun. Low water. 6-8" tall x 7-8" wide. Hardy to 20°F.

Echeveria sp., Ruffled Echeveria
Ruffled, fleshy gray-green rosettes and a soft red edging that is more intense in full sun. Red-orange flowers appear on tall stalks in late summer. Part sun/shade. Low water. 2' tall x 2' wide. Hardy to 30°F

Euphorbia flanaganii, Medusa's Head
Long, thin ‘snake-like’ spineless stems grow and twist to create a rounded mound, hence the name Medusa’s Head. Full/part sun. Average water. 12" x spreading to 6'. Hardy to 25°F

Euphorbia succulenta, formerly Monadenium stapelioides
Dramatic fleshy branches snake out from base. Small white/pink flowers. Cannot tolerate wet soil. Sun/part sun. Low water. 1' tall x 1' wide. Hardy to 30°F

Gasteraloe ‘Green Ice’
Thick leaves with spots and margin stripes. Requires excellent drainage. Good house plant. Shade/filtered sun, indoor light. Low water. 3–5" tall x 3–4" wide. Hardy to 30°F

Geranium x oxonianum ‘Miss Heidi’
Accent for succulents. Colorful pink flowers for rock gardens, mixed borders. Sun/part shade. Avg–low water. 12" tall x 14" wide. Hardy to 25°F

Graptopetalum superbum, Beautiful Graptopetalum
5" wide, flat rosettes with thick, fleshy gray-pale lavender leaves. 1–2' tall stalk with pink-tinged white flowers in winter. Sun/shade. Low water. <1' tall x 2–3' wide. Hardy to 20–25°F

Graptoveria ‘A Grim One’
Echeveria x Graptopetalum.Tight rosettes of silver-blue leaves that flush red at tips. Sunny yellow flower spikes in summer. Needs good drainage. Full sun. Low water. 8" tall x 1' wide. Hardy to 25–30°F

Graptoveria ‘Fred Ives’
Echeveria x Graptopetalum. Clumping rosettes of broad bronze and pink leaves. Flower spikes of pale yellow flowers in summer. Needs good drainage. Full sun. Low water. 8" tall x 1' wide. Hardy to 25–30°F

Haworthiopsis coarctata
Long stems packed with fleshy leaves, usually green but may turn purple-red in full sun. Sun/shade. Low water. 8" tall x clumping, Hardy to 25°F

Kalanchoe luciae, Paddle Plant
Clam shell-shaped basal rosette. Leaves are covered with a gray bloom and leaf margin takes a reddish hue during cooler winter months if grown in bright light; otherwise leaves remain uniformly green. Yellow flowers. Sun/part shade. Low water. 1–2' tall x 2–3' wide. Hardy to 25°F

Kalanchoe millotii
Light green scalloped leaves, slightly fuzzy. Yellow flowers in summer. Frost tender, often grown indoors. Part shade/shade. Low water. 1' x 1'. Hardy to 36–40°F

Evergreen, mat-forming groundcover. Pink-tinged star-shaped flowers in summer. Leaves turn pinkish in drought. Sun. Low water. 4" tall x 12" wide. Hardy to -30°F

Sedum dendroideum, Bush Sedum
Tall, upright shrub with bright green leaves. Edges turn red in sun. Yellow flowers in late winter/early spring. Sun or shade. Low water. 3–5' tall x 3–4' wide. Hardy to 25°F

Sedum japonicum ‘Tokyo Sun’
Mat-forming lime-green ground cover with bright yellow star-shaped flowers in summer. Full sun. Low water. 3–8" tall x spreading. Hardy to 10°F.

Tiny gray-green rosettes with notched and scalloped edges. White star-like flowers in summer. Sun/part shade. Low–regular water. 3" tall x 8" wide. Hardy to 25°F

Evergreen trailing groundcover. Red egg-shaped leaves can drop & root. Yellow flowers in late spring–summer. Sun/part shade. Low water. 6" tall x 12" wide. Hardy to 15°F

Sedum Sunsparkler Dazzleberry
Brilliant raspberry flowerheads on disease resistant, smoky blue-grey foliage. Sun/part sun. Low water. 6–8" tall x 18" wide. Hardy to -40°F

Sempervivum sp, Hens and Chicks
Spreading mats of rosettes (hens) with offsets (chicks). Hens flower (red/pink/yellow) then die, leaving behind the chicks. Sun. Low water. Variable size. Hardy to -20°F

Stapelia
Low-growing, spineless, stem succulent plants. Most Stapelia flowers are visibly hairy and generate the odour of rotten flesh when they bloom.

Synadenium grantii, African Milk Bush
Grown for its tropical look. Leaves change from green to burgundy depending on sun/light exposure. As all plants in the Euphorbia family, milky sap can cause skin irritation. Keep away from pets. Light sun/shade. Low water. 8–12' tall x 6–8' wide. Frost tender

Tephrocactus articulatas, Paper Spine Cactus
Pinecone-shaped segmented stem with lots of long, soft white spines. Segments detach easily. Bell-shaped flowers. Full sun. Low water. 12" tall x 18" wide. Hardy to 15°F

Flowers bloom intermittently throughout the year. Pinch to maintain compact plant. Dry between waterings. Shade/part sun. Moderate water. Trailing. Frost tender.
