We have a wide variety of activities and information booths in addition to the plant sale. Join us for a Gardening Talk or Tour, visit our Ask the Experts information tables, enjoy a children's activity or talk with us in our plant areas. We are here to answer your questions. Bring your plant, soil, pest, and tool questions to our Education Booths.

Be cool this winter and grow your own vegetables year-round! Learn about the wide variety of vegetables that thrive from fall through spring here in Santa Clara County and which are our top picks.

Planting for Success with Waterwise and Native Perennials

Fall is the best time to buy and transplant drought-tolerant perennials and most native California perennials and shrubs. Learn how to prepare and plant so they will become happy and thriving beauties in your garden.

Succulents are plants that store water within their tissues, making many of them excellent choices for including in a waterwise, Mediterranean landscape. Join us to learn which ones do best in Santa Clara County, and how to get them established and thriving in your landscape.

Children’s Salad Bowl Experience

Experience the rainbow salad children’s station! Eat the different colors of veggies, eat different parts of a plant, learn what each color veggie can do for you and plant a rainbow veggie garden to take home. For children with accompanying adult.

  • California Native Plants: Find out more about these plants that are perfectly adapted to our climate
  • Tool Care: See live demonstrations of how to keep your tools sharp and in tip-top condition. Bring your own hand pruner (must be in working condition) and learn to sharpen it yourself.
  • Santa Clara Composting Education Program: Learn about composting and where to take free classes.
