Spring Garden Market
9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Join us on April 13 for our 25th annual Spring Garden Market, our premier plant sale and sustainable gardening showcase. It will be held at our parcel in Martial Cottle Park in San Jose, as part of the Martial Cottle Park Spring Celebration. Sales benefit the UC Master Gardener program. Note that our sale runs 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., while the Park's Spring Celebration runs 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Please bring a box, cart, or wagon for an easier shopping experience. No dogs except service dogs in the sales area.
New this year
- Our Vendor fair is back!
- Martial Cottle Park's Spring Celebration Festival is being held in conjunction with our sale.
- We will offer hands-on tool sharpening education at our tool care booth. Bring your own hand pruner (must be in working condition) and learn how to sharpen it.
A note about the rough terrain
We are very excited about our parcel at Martial Cottle Park and by the great strides we have made developing it so far. However, many areas are still very rough or just covered with coarse mulch. It's important that everyone wear sturdy shoes for walking on these uneven, possibly muddy surfaces. Strollers and wheeled walkers may have difficulty navigating the mulched sales area.
Take a look at this great drone’s eye view of our parcel.
Choose from our huge variety of tomato, pepper, herb, and flower seedlings and succulents that we raise right here in the Santa Clara Valley. We grow varieties not readily available elsewhere, selected for outstanding taste, beauty, and performance in our soil and climate.
We now accept credit/debit cards!
Gardening Talks and Garden Tours
Join us for talks and tours by UC Master Gardeners throughout the day, from tips on growing great tomatoes to California native plants.
At 11:30 a.m., Dave Cortese will host a dedication ceremony for the new Martial Cottle Park, City of SJ Community Garden, dedicated to Rusty Areias.
Kids will have a great time in our Growing Young Gardeners area. Come by to see what fun our volunteers have in store.
Green Elephant Sale
Whatever you call it, a garage sale, a rummage sale, or a re-purposing event, it’s a great opportunity to pick up gently used tools, pots, books, trellises and more at bargain prices while benefiting the UC Master Gardener program.
Get your gardening questions answered by UC Master Gardeners at our Information Tables.

Vendors / food trucks
Perhaps you are in need of an embroidered gardening apron, or a jar of local Los Gatos honey? What about a Christmas Cactus or gourd birdhouse for your garden? Our vendor marketplace and food trucks will have many enticing handcrafted items to view, buy and eat. Follow the music to this part of the Spring Celebration, near the main Martial Cottle Park entrance.
The Spring Garden Market is a fundraiser to benefit the UC Master Gardener Program of Santa Clara County. We are pleased to have Martial Cottle Park and the San Jose Mercury News as supporters of our Market.
